... I'm starting slow on the blog stuff ... but like the pioneers and adventurers of old, I figure the first step of any journey is the critical one. After that, it's just a matter of taking another step, then another, and then another.
Just returned recently from the big mystery convention Bouchercon, which was in Anchorage, Alaska this year. It was my first time in Alaska ... Wow, was I impressed! By the scenery, by the people, by the HUGENESS of it all. Oh, and Anchorage had some dynamite places to eat and great coffee. (Great coffee is an absolute necessity for me.)
After Bouchercon, I went to Nome as part of the Sisters in Crime "Authors in the Schools" program.
Great people (and coffee!) in Nome as well!
I visited both of the schools in Nome and chatted with the kids about writing. More about that later.
For now, a photo ... yep, there's a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow. Real or imaginary? A ghost of the past or an indication of the present? You decide.
